Marvel Super Heroes Bundle Contents: Gift VS Regular

MTG Bundles are always fairly popular product. They allow you to scratch that itch for opening packs without buying a whole booster box. Plus, they always contain a few extras, which is pretty neat.

Marvel Super Heroes Bundles also look like they’ll end up well-liked. In fact, there’s not just one but two different ones coming with this set: a special Gift Bundle and a regular version.

In today’s article we’re going to take a look at their contents and discover which one is better. So, without further ado, let’s start exploring the Gift edition.

Marvel Super Heroes Gift Bundle Contents

MTG Marvel Super Heroes Gift Bundle

In each Marvel Super Heroes Gift Bundle, you’ll find:

  • 1 Marvel Super Heroes Collector booster
  • 9 Marvel Super Heroes Play boosters
  • 1 foil alt-art promo card
  • 15 foil basic lands (5 full-art, 10 regular)
  • 15 non-foil basic lands (5 full-art, 10 regular)
  • a spindown life counter
  • a foil card storage box

If you’re a newer player, unfamiliar with some of these items, here’s a quick overview.

Boosters

The most of Bundle’s value comes from boosters.

Collector Booster

Marvel Super Heroes Collector Booster

Collector booster is the priciest one, as it contains 5 guaranteed rares or mythics, and all cards in the pack are either foil or use alternate artwork. (Sometimes both.) These are extremely fun to open, as some versions of the cards can only be opened here. (Such as the serialized The Mind Stone.)

Play Booster

Play boosters, on the other hand, are the regular ones. The average amount of rares is 1.34 per pack, so you’re getting more commons and uncommons.

However, you can use these boosters to play Draft or Sealed. You only need six of them for a 2-player draft. This is a great way to get some actual game play out of your boosters, as opposed to just cracking them.

With nine included boosters, you can expect around 12 rares and mythics, and 126 cards total. A neat way to start your Marvel MTG collection.

Promo Card

The promo card is a Daredevil, Man Without Fear, a pretty neat card, but probably not very expensive one. On the right you can see its regular version, from the main Super Heroes set, with the promo on the right.

It will be in foil and the alternate artwork is exclusive to this Bundle.

Lands

Basic lands are a great addition, as you can play them in basically any deck. There are 30 lands total, a mix of foils, nonfoils, full-arts, and regular versions. They are evenly distributed, so you’re getting 6 lands of each of the five basic land types. (Plains, Island, Swamp, Mountain, Forest.)

All lands are set within the Marvel universe, and you’re essentially getting all of the different artwork — excellent if you plan to collect them or simply pimp your Marvel-based Commander precon.

Spindown Counter

This is basically a 20-sided die, but the numbers are arranged in order next to each other. This way, it can be used as a life counter. A cool addition, but it probably won’t affect whether or not you buy the Bundle.

Foil Storage Box

Last but not least, there’s the storage box. This might not seem like a big deal, but it’s actually a big draw towards Bundles. They always feature some cool artwork, this one apparently features Marvel Age Omnibus Vol. 1 conver, from Kerry Gammil.

It’s going to look great on a shelf, holding all of your cards you open in the Bundle, and many others too. Usually it’s large enough that it can also hold a couple of Commander decks.

So, those are the items you get in the Marvel’s Gift Bundle. How does the cheaper, regular version compare? Let’s find out.

Marvel Super Heroes Regular Bundle Contents

Marvel Super Heroes Bundle Contents

Each Marvel Super Heroes regular Bundle contains:

  • 9 Marvel Super Heroes Play boosters
  • 1 foil alt-art promo card
  • 15 foil basic lands (5 full-art, 10 regular)
  • 15 non-foil basic lands (5 full-art, 10 regular)
  • a spindown life counter
  • a card storage box

The card storage box, spindown die, and promo card will all differ from those included in the Gift Bundle. However, the major change here is the lack of the Collector booster. Besides that, it’s pretty much the same stuff.

As far as the promo gets, here’s Scarlet Witch. The regular version is the left one.

It’s another useful promo, but unlikely a pricey one. With that in mind, let’s compare the two Bundles.

Gift VS Regular Super Heroes Bundle

Which Bundle is better mostly depends on their prices. For the purposes of this article, we’re going to refer to MSRP (Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price). You can adjust the numbers based on the deals you find.

So, a Gift Bundle is supposed to cost $89.99, while the regular version is twenty bucks cheaper at $69.99.

As you saw above the key difference between the two is a Collector booster, at $39.99 MSRP. (There’s also different promo, box and spindown, but they don’t affect the value as much.) So given that there probably won’t be a major difference between the value of the two promos, you’re essentially paying $20 dollars for the Collector booster, that’s worth twice as much.

This means that at those price points, Gift Bundle is a significantly better option, unless you don’t care about the Collector booster at all.
