Avatar Magic set is bringing us plenty of cool-looking alternate artworks. One of those are the so-called Avatar Field Notes cards. In today’s article, we’re going to take a closer look at them, and explain where you can get these.
Before we get to the cards, let’s first check what these are all about.
What Are Avatar Field Notes Cards?
These are borderless alternate-art variants of cards from the main Avatar: The Last Airbender set. Each card features an iconic creature are creation from the Avatar world. (As well as one regular guy in Diligent Zookeeper.)
The art style looks like drawings and sketches from an explorer’s notebook, hence the name.
There’s a total of 15 different Field Notes cards: 8 rares and 7 mythic rares. They appear both in Avatar Play and Collector boosters.

Where to Get Avatar Field Notes Cards?
As mentioned, these appear in both Play and Collector versions of Avatar boosters. As expected, the odds to open one differ from booster type.
Avatar Play Boosters
Play booster has three slots where you can get a Field Note card:
- Wildcard slot (less than 1%)
- Rare slot (between 1.4-2.3%)
- Foil slot (less than 1%)
Yeah, the percentages are a bit moot, but that’s the best we could get from the official Collecting Avatar article.
Most likely, you can expect a Field Note card in every 50 or so Play boosters. (That’s a 2% chance.)
Avatar Collector Boosters
Collector boosters, on the other hand offer significantly better odds. And we know more specifics about them. There are two possible slots to open a Field Notes card:
- Non-foil (9.9% — 6.9% for rare, 3% for mythic)
- Foil (16.4% — 11.4% for rare 5% for mythic)
This means that each Avatar Collector booster has 24.7% chance of containing at least a single Field Notes card.
