Commander Legends Spoilers
Thanks to the first panel at the Command Fest Online, we already have several exciting Commander Legends Spoilers available, so check them out.
Besides the Sengir artwork, that you see above, the second artwork was also spoiler pretty early on. It depicts an unknown planeswalker. While this isn’t 100% confirmed, the artwork is done in a way that’s usually used for planeswalkers. We do know that the character on the art is one that we’ve seen before.
Who do you think this could be? Tell us in the comments below.
Magus Cycle Completion
Magus cycle features creatures, which reference other cards – both by name and their casting costs. There are currently four Magi, but the green one is missing, as you can see from this table.
|White||Magus of the Balance||Balance|
|Blue||Magus of the Mind||Mind's Desire|
|Black||Magus of the Will||Yawgmoth's Will|
|Red||Magus of the Wheel||Wheel of Fortune|
|Green||Magus of the ?||?|
Gavin Verhey, Senior Magic Designer and Writer at Wizards of the Coast confirmed that this cycle will be completed in Commander Legends. So which card do you think the green Magus will reference?
Fetch Lands – Not Included
Speaking of old favorites, this isn’t the last time you’ll see fetch lands this year, either. While they will not be entering Standard in 2020 (let’s put that rumor to rest right now—having these in abundance still isn’t a play pattern we want in Standard), there will be another way to pick up some stylized versions of fetch lands later this year that will also be in your local game store.– Blake Rasmussen, Wizards of the Coast employee
So they won’t be entering Standard in 2020, which means we won’t get them in Zendikar Rising. There aren’t that many MTG products until the end of the year, so one of the guesses was they might appear in Commander Legends.
However, we recently found out that the only dual land cycle in Commander Legends is going to be the completion of Battlebond lands. So no fetch lands here.
So we might see them in the other option – Zendikar Rising Collector Booster (check price on Amazon). In that case Wizards would have to state that those fetches aren’t Standard legal.
How Will the Draft Work
Are you wondering how Commander Legends Draft will work? Here’s a quick recap:
- One of the legendary creatures that you draft is your Commander and will start in the Command Zone. (You can have two Commanders if both have Partner).
- All cards in your deck have to follow your Commander’s color identity.
- Your deck size is 60.
- You draft 3 booster packs of 20 cards each.
- You pick two cards with each pick.
Commander Legends Booster Box
The Commander Legends booster box contains 24 Packs of 20-card boosters, so you’re getting 480 cards total. You can already preorder the box on Amazon.
Commander Legends Decks
So just three new cards per deck (six total), with some exciting reprints, but still beginner friendly. Will keep you updated with more info, once we get closer to the release date.
