Do you want to make your Adventure deck even greater? This Final Adventure Upgrade Guide will help you with that.
We wrote upgrade guides for all Challenger Decks of 2020. In each of them you’ll find a budget version (without additional expensive cards) and a full upgrade (all the best cards). You can choose which one suits you the best. But first, let’s take a look at the original decklist for Final Adventure.
Final Adventure Decklist

Final Adventure Budget Upgrade
First, we removed both copies of Disfigure. Ideally, those would be replaced with Murderous Rider, but since this is a budget version, we’ll use Drag to the Underworld instead.

Then we also made some changes to the mana base, removing two life-gain lands to make space for two more copies of Temple of Malady. Blacklance Paragon got cut for an additional Forest. Yes, some of our cards are low costed, but we still want to play a land each turn. We have so much too do with our mana (with Advanture cards), that we don’t want to miss a land drop. With 24 lands that’s less likely to happen..
In sideboard, we found some space for two Casualties of War. It is a very powerful card in the right matchup and you should have access to it.
Those are the only changes we’ve made, since the deck is already pretty strong for a budget deck. It should look something like this:
Creature (27) 2 Knight of the Ebon Legion 4 Edgewall Innkeeper 4 Foulmire Knight 1 Blacklance Paragon 4 Order of Midnight 4 Smitten Swordmaster 4 Lovestruck Beast 2 Midnight Reaper 2 Murderous Rider Planeswalker (1) 1 Vraska, Golgari Queen Sorcery (2) 2 Find // Finality Instant (2) 2 Drag to the Underworld Artifact (4) 4 Lucky Clover Land (24) 2 Castle Locthwain 1 Fabled Passage 4 Temple of Malady 1 Jungle Hollow 8 Forest 8 Swamp | Sideboard (15) 4 Duress 2 Kraul Harpooner 3 Noxious Grasp 2 Thrashing Brontodon 2 Massacre Girl 2 Casualties of War |
- Cards added – main deck: 5
- Cards added – sideboard: 2
- Total: 7
If you want to continue upgrading with the same game plan in mind consider getting more copies of Fabled Passage and Overgrown Tombs. Our full upgrade will take a different twist on the Adventure archetype.
Final Adventure Upgrade – Full
We based the full upgrade on the deck, that Chris Kvartek played in Top 8 of Mythic Championship back in December. We’ve updated it considering that cards from Theros Beyond Death are now legal.
We don’t play Lucky Clover anymore and knight sub-theme is also gone. Good adventure cards are still present, but Edgewall Innkeeper is the only payoff now. Therefore we have room for heavy hitters like:

All of them work very well with The Great Henge, allowing us to cast it very quickly, possibly on turn three. Henge helps us offset the card disadvantage from the Regisaur and makes our creatures even better.
Vivien, Arkbow Ranger is also a key piece of the deck, giving our big creatures trample and also serving as a removal spell. Our removal suite is now complete with four Murderous Riders.

We have a perfect mana base with addition of Overgrown Tombs. The deck will now run very smoothly. This is what you should end up with:
Creature (30) 4 Edgewall Innkeeper 4 Foulmire Knight 2 Order of Midnight 4 Paradise Druid 4 Lovestruck Beast 4 Murderous Rider 4 Rotting Regisaur 2 Polukranos, Unchained 2 Questing Beast Planeswalker (3) 3 Vivien, Arkbow Ranger Artifact (3) 3 The Great Henge Land (24) 6 Swamp 8 Forest 2 Fabled Passage 4 Temple of Malady 4 Overgrown Tomb | Sideboard (15) 3 Duress 2 Epic Downfall 1 Kraul Harpooner 2 Noxious Grasp 2 Thrashing Brontodon 1 Shifting Ceratops 2 Massacre Girl 2 Casualties of War |
- Cards added – main deck: 28
- Cards added – sideboard: 5
- Total: 33
