Hello, folks! Today, I’m doing a very quick Food and Fellowship Upgrade Guide, talking just about 3 cards, which you should add to the deck. Nevertheless, the cards I selected should improve the deck by a significant margin.
First, let’s check the decklist, and then we’ll move to the cards.

Best 3 Cards for Food and Fellowship Upgrade

The following upgrades are meant for the version of the deck that uses Frodo and Sam as the main commanders, although, it could also work with Pippin and Merry, as they work with a similar theme.
Mithril Coat

Cards that can protect your commander are always good. There are many ways of doing so with card like Swiftfoot Boots, Darksteel Plate, Teferi’s Protection, and so on. All of them have their pros and cons, and can be useful in various scenarios.
However, my choice for that slot would be Mithril Coat. The most obvious compassion is the aforementioned Darksteel Plate. The Coat has a slightly higher equip cost, but that’s offset by the fact that it has flash, and can be attached to a legendary creature for free when it comes into play.
On top of that, it’s also the perfect flavor fit for the deck, as Mithril Coat was quite useful for Frodo. This is a great card to include in the deck, particularly if you want to have the whole deck in the Middle-earth setting.
Gyome Master Chef

Now, this is a card, which definitely isn’t set in Middle-earth. However, it’s one of the earliest Food-based commanders, and as such it’s an amazing fit in this deck.
This is yet another way of consistently getting Food tokens in play. While Sam provides them at the beginning of the combat, Gyome makes them at the end of your turn. (Depending on how many nontoken creatures you put into play.)
Its last ability gives you another, very important use for the Food tokens. You can pay a single mana, and sacrifice a Food to give a creature indestructible. (Since you also tap it, this can be used to prevent opponents from attacking or blocking.)
So, you’re getting a Food generator, that can help you protect your creatures. As you can imagine, this is a very important card for the Food and Fellowship deck.
Academy Manufactor

Academy Manufactor is a great card for this deck, as it improves all cards that can make tokens – and there sure are plenty of them!
When you have it in play, each time you’d create a Food, you’ll also get a Treasure and a Clue. This is a great way to get ahead in the game. The Clues will make sure that you don’t run out of gas, while the Treasures will give you enough mana to cast them ahead of schedule.
If you’ll add the Manufactor to the deck, you’ll quickly see just how powerful it can be in this precon.
Conclusion
That’s it for today. If time permits, I hope I will be able to update this Food and Fellowship Upgrade Guide, so check back in a week or so. Until then, here are some other articles that might interest you:
