There’s a chase card in every Magic set, but their prices vary depending on their rarity and disability. The more common ones cost around hundred bucks, while the most special ones can fetch mid-five figures.
As it turns out, the rarest version of The Mind Stone falls into that category. That makes the priciest card not just from the Marvel Super Heroes set, but in all sets releases so far in 2026.
Anyhow, in today’s article you’ll learn everything there is to know about it, including:
- What are the odds for opening The Mind Stone?
- In which products can you open it?
- How many copies of The Mind Stone exsist?
- And more!
There’s a lot to discuss, so let’s get right to it.
What is The Mind Stone in MTG?
The Mind Stone is an useful two mana artifact and the second among the six Infinity Stones to appear in Magic. Here, take a look at its regular version:

It’s a two mana indestructible mana rock that taps for white. That might already be playable in some decks, but there’s a significant upside to it.
You can pay six mana and tap it to harness it. After you do so, you get to blink (exile and return) one of your other nonland permanents at the end of each of your turns.
This opens up a lot of cool plays. The main use is with various enters effects, but you could also save your permanents from negative auras or get an additional use from your artifacts with tap effects.
While this ability is not particularly powerful on its own, the fact that it’s tacked onto a perfectly playable mana rock makes it much more desirable.
Of course, the artwork is also spectacular — another excellent piece by Volkan Baga. It’s reminiscent of his Moxen, which are (for the part) only used on Magic Online. Speaking of artwork, as you might already know, there are a couple of alternate variants.
Borderless Version

The artwork is also spectacular — a work of Volkan Baga. It’s done in a style reminscent of his Moxen, most of which are only used on Magic Online. Speaking of artwork, there are a couple of different alt-arts.
First up, the borderless version, which depicts Thanos wearing The Infinity Gauntlet with a single Infinity Stone in it. Obviously, it’s the Mind Stone placed in its proper place.
If you’re a fan of the comic, you’ll probably enjoy this one, as it’s done in the iconic comic-book style.
Textless Version

Finally, here’s the third and the rarest version of The Mind Stone: the textless variant. The stone really pops out in this card, which is a work of Madeline Boni.
Naturally, it will feel insane to actually open this card. But how likely is that to even happen? Let’s find out.
Where Can You Open The Mind Stone & What Are the Odds?
The answer to this question depends on the variant, as each comes with different odds.
Regular Version
The regular version can be opened in both Play and Collector boosters, and is as rare as any other mythic.
Typically, the odds for opening a random mythic in a Play booster are usually 1 in 7 (14.2%). With 25 mythic in set, the odds for opening a specific one are 1 in 175.
So, a Play booster has a 0.57% chance of containing The Mind Stone. (Roughly one per six Play booster boxes.)
Borderless Version Odds
The borderless version is more rare, and can be found in both Play and Collector boosters. (There’s a higher chance in Collector boosters.)
The odds for this variant are a bit more unclear, but they’re higher in Collector boosters.
Textless The Mind Stone Odds
Finally, the textless version, which is the Headliner card of the Super Heroes set. Sure, it’s not serialized, but is actually even rarer that some of those. It can only be open in Collector boosters.
The chance is extremely extremely small, though. Less than 0.015% to open it in a booster. In fact, it was confirmed that there are only 150 cosmic foil The Mind Stones ever printed.
Conclusion
That’s all about the Mind Stone for. If you’re interested in the only other Infinity Stone released so far, check our article about The Soul Stone.
Furthermore, if you’re a fan of both Marvel and Commander, you don’t want to miss the Super Heroes Commander Precons. There’s four of them, so there’s surely at least one that you’ll enjoy.

Until next time, enjoy Magic, and may you pull The Mind Stone from your very first pack of Marvel Super Heroes.
