If you want to learn more about the 22nd One Piece Starter deck, you’ve come to the right place. Below, you’ll find the full ST22 decklist, as well as some additional details about the deck.
Before we get to the decklist, let’s quickly check what the deck is all about.
OP-ST22: Ace & Newgate
Although there are two characters depicted on the deck, the deck only contains cards of one color: blue. That means that you can expect a lot of card draw and deck manipulation. As such the deck is a nice option for players who like to reduce the randomness of their cards.
There’s another layer to the deck, though. There’s a bunch of synergies with a Whitebeard Pirates card type. Therefore most cards in the deck feature that type, including the Leader. Speaking of which, let’s take a look.
Leader: Ace & Newgate

- 1x Ace and Newgate ST22-001
- Blue Leader
- 5 Life / 5000 Power (Special)
- Four Emperors / Whitebeard Pirates
- [Activate: Main][Once Per Turn] You may reveal 1 card with Whitebeard Pirates in its types from your hand: Draw 1 card and add the revealed card to the top of your deck.
While this leader isn’t broken or anything, it’s still a useful card. To be fair, that’s the power level of most Starter deck leaders, so no big surprises here.
5 Life and 5 Power is nice, but what about its ability? It essentially allows you to replace a Whitebeard Pirates card from your hand with the top card of your deck.
The base use of the ability is some filtering. You can get rid of a card you don’t want (as long as it has the WB type) to potentially find something better. This is already a fine effect, but there’s more going on.
You now know the top card of your deck. Having access to more information is particularly useful, since there are a bunch of cards that care about whether the top card has the Whitebeard type. For example, Edward Newgate ST22-003, Jozu ST22-006, and Squard ST22-007 are just a few cards in the deck that do so. (You can find what these do in the next section.)
So, all things considered Ace & Newgate is a really fun and useful Leader. Sure, it’s not the next meta breaker, but it’ll still play out nicely. If you’re a fan of these iconic characters, you’ll probably enjoy playing with the card.
