Special Guests are returning once again with Secrets of Strixhaven. These are a neat addition to the packs, albeit they are pretty rare. Below, you’ll find all 10 of them, as well as the odds to open them.
But first we’ll explain what those cards actually are. (If you’re a more enfranchised player, feel free to skip ahead.)
What are Secrets of Strixhaven Special Guests Cards?
These are 10 reprints of various useful cards from all over Magic’s past. They appear in Secrets of Strixhaven Play and Collector boosters, even though they aren’t Standard-legal. You can play them in Draft or Sealed, though.
As with most Special Guests, there’s an overarching theme in their artwork. This time, the pieces depict Strixhaven’s lecturers showing the original scenes from these cards.

SoS Special Guests: Odds & Where to Open Them?
You can find these in Play boosters (non-foil) and Collector boosters (foil). The odds for opening a Special Guest card differ depending on the booster type.
Play Boosters
If you open a Secrets of Strixhaven Play booster, you have a 1 in 55 (1.8%) chance for a Special Guest card. (It replaces a common card.)
A whole Play booster box contains 30 boosters, a single box has a 42.2% chance for at least one Special Guest card.
Collector Boosters
On the other hand, a Collector Booster offers better chances with approximately 1 in 22 (4.5%). Plus, the card will always feature the foil treatment.
A Collector booster box comes with 12 boosters. Interestingly enough, this offers a pretty similar chance for a box to contain at least one Special Guest card with 42.4%.
