Scene Boxes are returning once more with the Star Trek set. If you want more details about this product, you’ve come to the right place.
Today, we’ll explore what we know about Star Trek Scene Boxes and their contents so far. Let’s waste no time and get right to it!
Star Trek Scene Boxes Contents

Each Start Trek Scene Box contains:
- 6 foil borderless cards (these create a scene from a show when aligned)
- 6 art cards (not actual Magic cards, for display purposes only)
- 3 Star Trek Play boosters
- 1 display easel
Each box with the same name contains the same cards. There are two different boxes, which means a total of twelve cards. All of them are mechanically unique, which means that they appear here for the first time.
If you’re a fan of Commander format and the Star Trek show, you won’t want to miss these. Why? Because all cards are legendary creatures, allowing you to brew new decks around your favorite characters.
Now, if you like cracking boosters, the three included Play boosters can scratch that itch.
The addition of art cards is also pretty neat, as you can both play your cards in the deck, and still use these as display pieces be it in a frame or in your binder.
With that said, let’s see each box into more specifics.
Divergent Timeline
“An intrepid crew takes their first voyage into the stars together. As James T. Kirk steps into the captain’s chair, a bold legacy begins anew.”
Whereas we don’t know what each cards does specifically, we do know which characters appear on them and in what colors. (You can see that by zooming in on the bottom left corner of the packaging image, but the text is unreadable.)
Anyhow, here’s who you can expect in this box, from left to right, top to bottom.
- James T. Kirk (white, blue, green)
- Spock (blue)
- Nyota Uhura (blue)
- Leonard H. McCoy (blue, green)
- Montgomery Scott (blue)
- Hikaru Sulu (white)
A note for fans of J.J. Abrams: This is the only product that contains characters from his Star Trek movies. (Besides a few cards on the bonus Stardates sheet.)
Enterprise-Q
“The crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise encounters Picard’s longtime adversary, Q. Will the trickster’s machinations bring woe or wonder?”
Enterprise-Q Scene Box will feature the following characters:
- Worf, Son of Mogh (white, red)
- Q (all five colors)
- Geordi La Forge (blue)
- Data (blue)
- Jean-Luc Picard (white, blue, red)
- Deanna Troi (white)
During the First Look stream, Gavin Verhey (principal designer at MTG) mentioned that he can’t wait for players to see these cards. All of them, but the five-color Q in particular feel very wacky. So, if you enjoy unorthodox and fun strategies, Enterprise-Q might be an awesome pickup.
