Ultimate Guard Flip’n’Tray Deck Box Review

Have you been in the market for a new deck box? Did you build a sweet new deck that deserves to be protected by a quality product? I have some good news for you today. Ultimate Guard’s Flip’n’Tray Deck Box is a perfect choice for you.

In this review I’ll tell you exactly why Flip’n’Tray deck box will serve you well for a long time.

What to Expect from the Flip’n’Tray Deck Box

If you have ever used a product by Ultimate Guard, you already know that they produce quality products. These deck boxes are no exception.

Flip’n’Tray boxes are also protected by a double layer of Ultimate Guard’s XenoSkin. This is a special material that looks sleek and is also very durable. You can drop the boxes on the ground from chest height and the cards won’t be damaged at all. Even the XenoSkin covering might survive without a scratch.

These deck boxes are not the typical flimsy boxes you get from other brands. The boxes feel sturdy and protective, which gives you peace of mind when storing your cards in them.

The cherry on top of the structure of these boxes is that they are held closed with a strong magnet. This makes them easy to open by hand and relatively difficult to pop open when you don’t want them to.

Additional Storage

The selling point for the Flip’n’Tray deck box is that you can store your cards in the same place as your other accessories. Dice, coins, or other small game pieces fit very well in the smaller tray. You don’t have to worry about bringing along a messy dice bag or something similar, because you can keep everything you need to go with your deck all in the same place.

Which Flip’n’Tray Deck Box to Choose?

When you buy a Flip’n’Tray deck box, you want to make sure you get the right one. If, for example, you are buying a deck box for your Commander deck, you want the box to hold all of the cards in sleeves. The Ultimate Guard 100+ XenoSkin Flip’n’Tray deck box will hold one hundred cards that are double sleeved.

If you like double sleeving your whole decks don’t buy Ultimate Guard 80+ XenoSkin Flip’n’Tray deck box. This box will hold 100 cards, but only single sleeved.

Flip’n’Tray Twin Deck Box

The same applies to the the 160+ and the 200+ Twin boxes. Each one holds 2 full decks, but the 160+ will hold single sleeved cards and the 200+ will hold double sleeved cards. These are great if you’re always carrying two decks with you.

Another thing to remember is that the dice trays on the 100+ and 200+ boxes are big enough to hold token cards. The 80+ and 160+ boxes do not have dice trays large enough. If you want to keep your tokens together with the decks in these boxes, they will have to fit next to the cards in the card trays. Hopefully you don’t have too many tokens.

  1. The 100+ deck box won’t hold 4-sided inner sleeve cards. These 4-sided sleeves increase the height of your deck by roughly 1/10th, or 10 cards. I use the Ultra-Pro Satin Tower and the Dex 100 card deck for my 4 sided inner sleeved decks.
