If you want to improve your Black Panther Commander precon, you’ve come to the right place. In this Wakanda Forever Upgrade Guide, you’ll find 10 suggested card swaps that you can make to make this deck stronger — and more fun!
Before We Start
There are a couple of differences from our usual upgrade guides, which deserve a mention.
First, some players like to keep their Universes Beyond decks on theme. Thus, five out of ten additions are from withing the Marvel Universe. This allows you to keep the flavor, while still upgrading the deck.
Second, there’s no specific commentary on the cards just yet. That’s coming next week, but I just wanted to get the article out ASAP. In the meantime, you can probably figure out on your own why a specific card was included.
Anyhow, let’s check what this deck is all about and then move to the card swaps.
Wakanda Forever Game Plan
There are multiple themes and legendary creatures in the deck, but for the most part, you’ll want to build around the main commander, T’Challa.
The Black Panther provides a steady stream of Vibranium tokens. These allow you to quickly ramp towards your expensive artifacts, which in turn grow T’Challa.
Let’s see how the deck supports this commander right out of the box.
Wakanda Forever Decklist
All in all, the theme seems fairly well supported, with a few odd cards sticking out. The following additions aim to increase the artifact count even higher, while removing some of the more clunky options.
There’s also a monarch theme, which I didn’t try to remove. It’s a pretty fun mechanic, and it’s very present within the deck. If you personally dislike it, feel free to cut some of those cards instead, as they aren’t particularly synergistic with T’Challa.
Anyhow, here are the upgrades!

Wakanda Forever Upgrade Recap
Here’s a quick upgrade of the suggested changes. As always, don’t feel like you need to follow this exactly. If a card you like is in the remove column, keep it and vice versa. Really make the deck your own!
Cards to add:
Forever and Ever
So, that’s it for Wakanda Forever Upgrade Guide. At least until next week, when there’s an update with additional information and some more possible additions.
If there’s a card that would fit perfectly in this deck, and I didn’t include it, leave a comment below. Perhaps some of our readers will use your recommendation!

Until next time, have fun playing Magic and may your opening 7 always contain a Sol Ring.
