Are you planning to buy some last minute gifts for an MTG player? Time’s running out for some last minute Christmas shopping, but no need to worry — our MTG Gift Guide 2025 is here to help you.
We’ll keep it short and to the point, so let’s get right to it.
Newest Bundle: Great for Any Player
One gift that you simply can’t go wrong with is the Bundle, which contains multiple booster packs as well as additional goodies. Every Magic player likes opening boosters, so this makes a neat gift.
Plus, it’s moderately priced, and won’t make a whole in your wallet.
On the other hand, if you’re looking for something pricier you could also go with Commander’s Bundle or a whole booster box.
If you don’t know which set your giftee prefers, it’s best to go with the latest one, in that case this would be Avatar the Last Airbender set.
For Commander Fans: 100-Card Precons
There are various ways to play Magic, with the most popular being the Commander variant. If you’re buying a gift for someone who likes the format, you can pick one of the many Commander precons.
Just try to find out if they already own one, as two decks with the same name contain the same cards. Perhaps ask, if they bought a deck recently, and if the answer is no, any of the latest options, such as Edge of Eternities Commander decks, should do well.
Universes Beyond: For Fans of Other Franchises
Magic the Gathering has been making various collaborations with different franchises. Thus, if you know your giftee is a fan of one, you could get them some products from that set.
Some options would be:
- Avatar: The Last Airbender Jumpstart Boosters
- Assassin’s Creed Collector Boosters
- Lord of the Rings Set Boosters
- Fallout Commander Decks
- Final Fantasy Chocobo Bundle
Specific Cards
Of course, you could also purchase specific cards, but that can be a bit problematic if you don’t know anything about the game. If you don’t mind asking your giftee, which is their favorite card, that they don’t own — go for it!
Otherwise, promotional versions of popular Commander staples, such as Command Tower are often a good buy. (But you’ll want to know which colors your giftee prefers.)
You can purchase them from a local MTG game store, on online, on a website such as TCG Player.
This can be a bit of a hassle, and you might buy a card they don’t even want. You can avoid all that by getting them some accessories instead.
Various Accessories

There are many items that Magic players use to make playing easier. These are always useful, no matter the player’s preferences.
For each item group, we highlighted our favorite, but you can also select among various alternatives:
- Deck Box (Ultimate Guard Flip’n’Tray 100)
- Sleeves (Dragon Shield sleeves)
- Dice (Chessex set of dice)
- Playmat (Ultra Pro playmat with official art)
Among these, you really can’t miss with sleeves. Players are always building new decks, so they can always use another pack or two.
Conclusion
That’s all for today, we tried to keep in short, so we don’t overwhelm you with too many options. If you’re looking for something specific or if you simply need more help, let us know in the comments below, and we’ll get back to you ASAP.
Have amazing holidays and may your MTG gift be simply perfect.

Hey! Thank you so much for this guide. I was looking for a birthday gift for my boyfriend, but you’ve given me some great ideas for him and his brother for Christmas, as well. I think they’ll be thrilled. :)
Glad to help, I don’t doubt you’ll pick a great gift :)
Do you have gift cards for Magic The Gathering?
Or … know where I could purchase one?
Maybe try to arange something with a local game store?
ask them if they buy cards online and where. plenty of online reputable stores have gift cards. card kingdom and TCGplayer are good and popular places to buy cards. ebay is a good place to buy individual cards for good prices if you stalk/look hard and long enough, but i’d bet that if they are serious about mtg then they either buy from one of the first two sites i mentioned or from their local game store. if they buy from their local game store you can usually give them store credit, but make sure they know they have it as the place won’t recognize him/her on sight in most cases.
This is so helpful! I’ve heard my brother mentioning commander deck but I didn’t know what that meant or if I should care. Now I know he’d like the thingy
