So, you’ve got your new Commander deck, full of iconic Marvel villains, but now you want to make it even better. If you need some help, our Doom Prevails Upgrade Guide will come in handy.
Below you’ll find 10 card swaps that will make the deck more fun and powerful. Half of those recommendations are from the Marvel Universe, which allows you to keep the deck on theme, while still improving it.
Anyhow, let’s check what the deck’s all about, then move the the upgrades.
Doom Prevails Game Plan
Typically, you can get a good idea of a precon’s theme from main and secondary commanders.


So, both commanders care about the Villain creature type, but in order to properly upgrade the deck, you need to pick one or the other. For the purpose of this article, we’re going to assume you picked Doctor Doom, which is the main option anyways.
Thus, you’ll want to play a lot of Villains to trigger its second effect, as well as cards that synergize with dicarding lands.
The deck is kinda pulled into different directions, but with the following 10 card swaps, you can make it more focused on the discard & Villains theme.
