There are Many Magic the Gathering sets, and products, so it can be hard to keep track of all of them. That’s why we’ve made this Commander Masters Products Guide, so you’ll have an easier time deciding which – if any of this amazing Commander release you want to preorder.
Commander Masters Boosters
There are three different types of booster packs being released with Lord of the Rings MTG set:
- Draft boosters
- Set boosters
- Collector boosters
You can find major differences between them in our MTG Booster Guide, but we’ll also quickly talk about them here.
Commander Masters Draft Boosters
- Boosters per box: 36
- Cards per booster: 20
- Rares per booster: 1 (small chance of a second one in foil)
This set is made not only with Commander, but also with Draft in mind. If you want to draft, you’ll need these boosters – three per player. If you’re a returning player these are the boosters that you’ve known for a while. Back then, these were simply called boosters.

Commander Masters Set Boosters
- Boosters per box: 30
- Cards per booster: 12
- Rares per booster: 1-4 (1.34 on average)
These boosters are meant for players who don’t want to spend too much, but just want to open the boosters for fun. They can contain multiple rares, and typically contain one alternate art card.
Commander Masters Collector Boosters
- Boosters per box: 4
- Cards per booster: 15
- Rares per booster: 5-7 (small chance of a second one in foil)
These are the most expensive boosters. However they always contain multiple rares, and all the cards are either foiled or have alternate art. Sometimes even both. If you want to pimp your Commander collection, these are a great way of doing so. Note, there are only 4 boosters per box, so keep that in mind when/if buying.
Commander Decks
There will be four Commander decks released with Commander Masters:
- Planeswalker Party
- Enduring Enchantments
- Eldrazi Unbound
- Sliver Swarm
