Limit Break Game Edition Decklist
As you can see below, the decklist is exactly the same as that of the regular Limit Break precon.
Some of the best cards in this deck are Clever Concealment, Tifa, Martial Artist, and Darksteel Plate. The deck’s game plan is to make use of Equipment to increase the power of Cloud, Ex-SOLDIER and your other creatures for tons of value.
Furthermore, the deck also includes a 2-card Collector Sample pack. (Which has a chance for some very valuable pulls.) That’s also included in the regular version too.
But wait a minute, what’s actually different between this Game Edition and the regular version of the deck? Is it just the packaging?
Not quite, while the 100 cards are all the same, no alt-arts or anything in the actual deck — there are a couple of major differences.
Game Code
The deck contain a game code that allows you to download the iconic Final Fantasy VII to your PC for free. If you wanted to try the game out, and acquire this deck too, now’s the time to do both at once.
Cloud, Midgard Mercenary Promo Card
While the 100-card deck contains all the same cards, there’s an additional promo card in the box. An alternate art version of Cloud, Midgard Mercenary, featuring an iconic shot directly from the game.
The regular version of the card has been selling for over $20 lately, and this one might be worth even more. Plus, it’s a perfect card for the deck’s strategy, so you can slot it right in.
So, now you know what’s special about the Game Edition of this FF Commander deck, but the question remains:
Is Limit Break Game Edition Worth It?
Given that, this is pretty much the same deck as the regular version of Limit Break precon, the answer depends on the price difference between the two, and the promo’s price. Plus, how much you value all of those items.
If you only want the deck, and don’t really care about the game code and promo card, you’re better off getting just the regular Limit Break precon.
Additionally, if you only want the promo card, you could just buy it on the secondary market, like TCGPlayer. However, the price has been quite high (around $70). If it stays around that level, the Game Edition might be worth it despite the higher MSRP.
For players who want both the promo and the deck, it depends on the promo’s price.
Finally, if you want everything (promo, deck, and game code), the product becomes a great buy.
MSRP Overview
So, the MSRP of the regular deck is $69.99, but is often available for under sixty dollars. Game Edition’s recommended price is quite higher at $99.99. If you can get it for cheaper, it becomes a better buy and vice versa.
If the promo remains more expensive than $40, then you should opt for the Game Edition. If not, just stick with the regular deck.
The game can also be bought on Steam for $12, and is sometimes on sale for as low as $5. Keep that in mind when making your decision on whether to buy this deck.
