There’s only one Reality Fracture Commander precon, but it’s something truly special. It feels like a love-letter to enfranchised Magic players, with so many callbacks and returning characters. On top of that, it’s not everyday that we get a new 4-color deck!

Multiverse Reforged Precon — Game Plan
This is a four color precon, containing all colors except green. So far, the only commander in this color combo was Breya, Etherium Shaper. Multiverse Reforged is bringing us two brand-new commanders in this color combo. (Spoiler alert: They’re both spectacular!)
The main theme of the deck is supposed to be tokens. However, this is not like any traditional token deck. Instead the deck plays more like a Polymorph deck. You’ll use expendable creature tokens to cheat massive threats in play — mainly with your main commander, Jace Multiverse Architect.
As for those massive threats, most of them are brand-new cards. They feature known iconic characters, but in unusual color combination. For example, there’s black-white Niv-Mizzet and colorless Omnath.
If you don’t know why that’s the case, here’s a short official description about Reality Fracture set:
Jace’s soultion. Everyone’s problem. — Mastermind mage Jace Beleren has pushed reality to its breaking point. An alternate Multiverse of his own creation threatens to overtake the current one, and just one team of heroes stands in the path of oblivion.
In short, Jace accidentally messed things up by creating an alternate reality that’s threatening the Multiverse as we know it.
The good thing about it? We get a bunch of cool cards! Before we get to those, let’s quickly check the deck’s contents.
Multiverse Reforged Precon: Contents
Each Multiverse Reforged precon contains:
- 2 foil borderless cards (your main and secondary commander)
- 98 regular cards (the rest of the deck, 16 brand-new, 82 reprints)
- 10 double sided tokens
- a cardboard deck box
- a strategy guide and a reference card.
For comparison, Secrets of Strixhaven Commander precons contained just 12 new cards per deck. (Some older precons got even fewer.) Now that’s 50% increase, which will allows this deck to showcase a lot of alternate-reality characters.

Multiverse Reforged Spoilers
The deck is already available for preorder on Amazon. If you enjoy 4-color decks in general, now is a good time to pick it up.
Popular decks often increase in price after the release. Based on the early hype, and the sweet new card designs, this precon might belong in that group too.
Multiverse Reforged Upgrade Ideas
A full upgrade guide is coming next week. Still, I wanted to highlight a few card that could work really well in this shell. They’re all fairly budget-friendly, but might increase in price as players start to upgrade this deck.
So, if you like any of these, now is a great time to acquire them.
#1 Shifting Shadow
Yes, the card is a bit slow, but it’s one of the cheapest Polymorph effects out there. It’s also repeatable and you can put it on an opponent’s creature in a pinch. Not ideal for the more competitive play groups, though.
#2 Reality Scramble
This card gives you value right away. You essentially get another Jace’s -3 effect and you get to do it again and again by discarding lands in addition to paying four mana.
Pretty sweet effect to include in this deck to make it more consistent. And yes — it does work with creature tokens.
#3 Grenzo, Dungeon Warden
Jace’s +1 ability puts cards on the bottom of your library, which isn’t that common. That plays pretty well with Grenzo, provided it has high enough power.
Put something good on the bottom, then bring it back with Grenzo. That can be quite potent in the right scenario, but it’s also just really fun when you manage to pull it off.

One last thing worth mentioning is that this actually isn’t the only Commander precon releasing with this set. There’s a set of 5 beginner-friendly decks coming on the same date.
