So, today we’re diving deep into what we know about Multiverse Reforged deck so far and making some very early predictions.
Multiverse Reforged Precon
This is a four color precon, containing all colors except green. So far, the only commander in this color combo was Breya, Etherium Shaper. (Without counting partner commanders.) It’s going to be neat to see two brand-new commanders in this color combo.
Tokens will be the main theme of the deck. The secondary theme is a bit more mystic with the line: “Warp Reality to power up.” being our only hint.
To understand what this deck is about, you need some context about the set. Here’s the official description about Reality Fracture:
Jace’s soultion. Everyone’s problem. — Mastermind mage Jace Beleren has pushed reality to its breaking point. An alternate Multiverse of his own creation threatens to overtake the current one, and just one team of heroes stands in the path of oblivion.
In short, Jace accidentally messed things up by creating an alternate reality that’s threatening the Multiverse as we know it.
The official description of the deck is as follows:
Sculpt the greatest threats in any reality. — Reimagine a new Multiverse with Jace at the helm as you make tokens and warp reality to power up.
It seem that the deck will showcase how Jace’s ideal Multiverse will look like. It’s going to be interesting to see how Wizards pull this off, as the majority of the deck still consists of reprints. Speaking of which, let’s check what you’ll be able to find in this deck.
Multiverse Reforged Precon: Contents
Each Multiverse Reforged precon contains:
- 2 foil borderless cards (your main and secondary commander)
- 98 regular cards (the rest of the deck)
- 10 double sided tokens
- a cardboard deck box
- a strategy guide and a reference card.
Among the 100 cards, there will be 82 reprints and 18 brand-new cards.
For comparison, Secrets of Strixhaven Commander precons contained just 12 new cards per deck. (Some older precons got even fewer.) Now that’s 50% increase, which will allow this deck to really bring something new to the table.
Multiverse Reforged Spoilers
So far, we know only about a single card, but it’s a spectacular one.
Early Predictions About Multiverse Reforged
While there are no spoilers from this set currently released, we can still make some early predictions and educated guesses.
First up, the main commander is Jace, and he’s almost certainly a planeswalker. That’s what he’s best known for and the Amazon listing says “2 Mythic Legendary cards” as opposed to “2 Mythic Rare Legendary Creature cards” from Secrets of Stirxhaven.
Maybe he’ll feature four abilities, one for each of its colors.
Maybe the second commander is also a planeswalker. Perhaps one of his previous enemies (Tezzeret the Seeker or Nicol Bolas, Planeswalker) that’s now his ally in this alternate Multiverse. A white-blue-black-red Nicol Bolas would be a sight to behold!
The “Warp Reality to power up.” line might actually be literal. In that case, the secondary theme of the deck would be the warp mechanic. It is a bit weird, but we’ve seen weirder stuff in precons.
While the main theme is tokens, these almost certainly won’t be your regular tokens. Instead, I’d expect Jace to make copy tokens of your opponent’s stuff that are somehow different from the copied creature.

Anyhow, even though this deck releases much later this year, on October 2nd, it’s already available for preorder on Amazon.
If you enjoy 4-color decks in general, now might be a good time to pick it up. Popular decks often increase in price after the release. Based on the early hype, this precon might belong in that group too.
