In this article you’ll be able to find all currently available information about Revival Trance precon. The deck is in Mardu colors (white, black, red) and led by Terra. All cards in the deck represent characters, locations, and events from Final Fantasy VI.
Let’s start by exploring the decks theme, then we’ll take a look at the decklist, and all of the new cards.
Reanimate With a Twist
This deck’s strategy is reanimator. For those unfamiliar with the term, its origins are tied to the card Reanimate. It perfectly depicts what this strategy is about. You get to bring your creatures into the play from your graveyard.
Typically, this strategy is accompanied by self-mill (putting cards from your library into your graveyard) and discard. This way, you can get expensive, powerful creatures in your graveyard, which you can then reanimate, and thus get around paying their high mana costs.
Of course, you can also reuse creatures that were destroyed in the game. You don’t necessarily need to jump through many hoops to enable this strategy.
This won’t be your regular reanimator precon, however. Instead of just bringing back the usual suspects, you’re going to be limited by creatures with power 3 or less. While this is a downside, it means that game play becomes quite unique, as you can now opt for less frequently used reanimator targets. (For example, Aurelia, the Warleader or Olivia, Crimson Bride.)

Revival Trance Spoilers
First up, Terra does everything you’d want from a reanimator commander. It provides self-mill, which is always valuable in a deck like this. Sure, it needs to do combat damage to a player to bring back a creature, but with flying and multiple opponents that shouldn’t be too hard.
Plus, paying just two generic mana for that effect is extremely cheap.
Your secondary commander won’t bring back creatures by itself. However, it allows you to replace cards in your hand, which is always handy. Plus, if you have a reanimator target in your hand, you get to put in in your ‘yard for value. Neat.
Whenever you do being a creature back, you also get to put +1/+1 counters on your whole team. This can be responsible for some very strong board states in the right situation.
