Temur Roar Precon: Decklist, Spoilers & Dragons

Dragons are certainly one of the most popular creatures in Magic. Every Commander deck that focuses on them sells like hot cakes. Most likely, the same will be true for the Temur Roar precon, which is the newest Dragon-based preconstructed deck.

In today’s article, you’ll be able to find everything about the deck’s strategy, including the decklist and images of all new cards.

So, without further ado – let’s get to it, and find out more about the deck’s game plan.

Ramp Into Dragons

Dragons are amazing, there’s no doubt about that. However, there’s just one problem with them. Usually, they cost a lot of mana. Thankfully, the secondary theme of the deck is ramp, which can help you with that.

(If you’re a beginner, a ramp is a term that refers to putting multiple lands into play in a single turn, and subsequently getting ahead on mana. The name comes from the iconic Rampant Growth.)

So, the plan will be a pretty typical one. Ramp first, deploy big threats later. Most likely it still won’t be a generic ramp deck. Whereas those use the more generic payoffs, such as Omnath, Locus of Rage and Etali, Primal Conqueror, you’ll be ramping into dragons instead.

It’s going to be interesting to see what the main and secondary commander will do. It has been confirmed that one of the two will be Eshki (a human), while the other is Ureni (a spirit dragon). Probably both of them will play well with other dragon cards.

Obviously, both of these will be in the blue-red-green color identity, which is a first for a Dragon commander precon. Speaking of which, let’s quickly…

In total, four of theme were released in the past:

• Draconic Destruction (red-green, Starter Commander deck)
• Draconic Dissent (blue-red, Battle for Baldur’s Gate)
• Draconic Domination (five color, Commander 2017)
• Draconic Rage (red-green, Adventures in the Forgotten Realms)

By clicking on their names, you can discover that their price on Amazon are fairly high. (Even the Starter one that was first selling for around $25 is now more expensive.) This is what I like to call the Dragon tax. The idea is that given enough time, all Dragon precon typically climb up in price.

If the same trend continues, now might be a good time to snag up your copy of Temur Roar precon. This way, you lock in the preorder price and avoid potential price spikes.
