Furthermore, they might also mention potential delays and issues that can affect the gameplay.

The second option you have, is to check MTG Arena Status Page. Game, Matches, and Logins systems must all be operational in order for you to run Arena smoothly.

No downtime is expected, but you are still required to restart the client to get the LotR patch.

More Tips for Your Middle-earth Journey

So, there’s still some time to pass before Tales of Middle-earth releases on Arena. In the meantime, you can check some of our articles to get acquainted with the new set.

Tales of Middle-earth Articles

If you’re a fan of Lord of the Rings, and are just getting into Magic, we have a guide for you: LotR Fan – New to MTG Guide. In it, you’ll find all the basic information you need to get started with the game.

If you’re a more experienced player, you probably know that there are many cool and exciting products coming with this set. You can find more information about them in the following articles:

However, the most anticipated product this time around, are most likely the four LotR Commander decks. There’s one with Hobbits, one with Elves, one with Riders of Rohan, and one is commandeered by Sauron himself.

Commander decks this time around are particularly interesting, since this is the big release, with five different decks, so there’s bound to be something for everyone. There are tribal decks, decks centered around specific mechanics, and so on.

Food and Fellowship Commander Deck

We also have to share a bit of bad news. With each big set, we also release a Draft Guide, which is quite a popular article among our readers. This time around, we won’t be able to put one out on time, but a day or two after the release you can expect it – with more details than ever.

Lord of the Rings Arena Code

With the new set coming, you might be looking for the new code. However, with the recent sets this works a bit differently. You simply log in the game, and in the top right corner you’ll notice a message box. You click on it, and there you’ll find your 3 free Tales of Middle-earth booster packs.

However, if this were to change, you’ll still be able to find the new and all other MTG Arena codes here.

Tales of Middle-earth Events

Let’s find out which events you’ll be to play, once LotR set goes live. As usual, two type of drafts will be available immediately. You can choose between Premier (best-of-one) or Traditional Draft (best-of-three). If you only play Quick Draft, you’ll have to wait a couple of weeks to start drafting.

If you prefer Sealed, you’ll be able to choose between Traditional Sealed and Best-of-one Sealed. Sealed events won’t be around for as long as the drafts, but you’ll still be able to get some practice in. That can come in handy, if you’re planning on playing the upcoming Arena Open.

As far as Standard goes, this set actually doesn’t come to Standard. Instead, you’ll be able to play with the cards in Historic and Alchemy formats.
