Miracle Worker Precon: Decklist & Spoilers

Sometimes, Commander preconstructed decks use a common popular theme, with just a minor twist. While the Miracle Worker precon uses a known theme, the twist seems quite major, which makes the deck unique.

In this article, you’ll find everything we know about this special deck so far, starting with its theme.

UPDATE: On September 10th, the full decklist was revealed, as well as all the new cards. You can find all of this below.

Miraculous Enchantments

Each Commander precon nowadays comes with two lines of text on the packaging that should give us some information about it. For the Miracle Worker precon, these two lines are:

  • See the future.
  • Cast miracles.

Both of these refer to the same mechanic: miracle. Miracle is an effect appears on some cards, with perhaps the most well-known being Terminus. It gives you a significantly reduced cost if it’s the first card you draw in a turn. (You can also cast them on your opponents’ turns if they are the first card you draw in that turn, even if they aren’t instants.)

If you want to utilize this mechanic to its fullest, you need some way to control the top of your deck, and that’s probably what is meant by: “See the future.” So, you can expect various effects like surveil, scry, and putting cards on top of your deck.

Additionally, there is another theme, not mentioned on the box. The Miracle Worker precon focuses on a specific card type: enchantments.

Thus, it seems like a great option for players who like casting enchantments, and controlling their draw steps. Here, let’s take a look at the decklist.

Miracle Worker Spoilers

Aminatou, Veil Piercer Duskmourn Commander Decks

This truly is a special card, as it gives all enchantments in your hand miracle cost. That sounds a bit weird, doesn’t it? Here’s what this basically does:

  • You need to have Aminatou in play.
  • Now, when you draw your first card in a turn, if it’s an enchantment, you can play it right away (no matter whose turn it is) by paying its cost reduced by 4 generic mana.
  • For example, Sigil of the Empty Throne would cost two white mana, Doomwake Giant just a single black mana.

As you can imagine, this can be extremely strong, particularly if you have ways to setup the top of your library and draw cards on opponents’ turns. Aminatou already helps with the first part a little, as you get to surveil 2 at the beginning of your upkeep.

Miracle Worker Upgrade Ideas

A full upgrade guide is coming in a week or so, but I wanted to highlight some of my early favorites for the deck, which all play really well with Aminatou.

If you’re one of those players who like to start upgrading their precons right away, you might want to acquire some of these as you order the deck.

Heliod, the Radiant Dawn

Heliod, the Warped Eclipse Miracle Worker Precon Decklist Upgrade Ideas

Heliod is a great fit for this deck. For four mana, you get a 4/4 creature enchantment, with enters-trigger allowing you to return an enchantments from your graveyard to your hand. That’s pretty neat, but the real power comes from the backside. (You’ll need some further mana investment to flip it, but it is worth it.)

Heliod becomes a slightly larger creature with two effects. First, you can play spells as though they had flash. Certainly useful, especially in combination with the second ability, which reduces the cost of your spells by 1 generic mana for each card your opponents have drawn this turn.

This means you can wait for a turn, where your opponents draw multiple cards, then unleash a bunch of card from your hands with significantly reduced costs. This way Heliod can be your plan B, when you for some reason can’t reduce the costs of your expensive enchantments with Aminatou.

Speaking of expensive enchantments, there is an iconic one that fits this description:

Omniscience

If you’re looking for a perfect top and enchantment, there’s none other as fun as Omniscience. If you ever manage to land it, the rest of the game should be a cake walk, as you’re going to be able to cast everything. Sure, it’s possible to run out of cards, but in colors that offer you so much card advantage, that’s quite hard to do.

Omniscience used to be an extremely expensive card, but due to some reprints, and another one coming later this year in Foundations, it’s price is now much more reasonable.

Sensei’s Divining Top

Sensei's Divining Top Miracle Worker Precon Information Decklist

If the top of your deck matters, as it does here due to Aminatou’s miracle effect, you can’t beat the efficiency of Sensei’s Divining Top. For fairly low mana investment, you suddenly have a much better chance of having the card you want on top of your library. Combined with Aminatou’s surveil ability, you can look at a total of five cards before you draw your card for the turn.

Also, it allows you to draw in card during your opponent’s turn. This helps you if you want to use a miracle effect on their turns. (You can only use one per turn, as the miracle triggers on the first card you draw.)

Thus, this artifact is a great card to add to the deck.

Miracle Worker Schemes

Before we wrap up, here are the 10 schemes included in the Miracle Worker precon. These cards are used to play Archenemy, a special game mode where a single player battles against multiple opponents with the help of scheme cards. You can learn more about Archenemy rules here.

Work a Miracle

With that, we wrap up our Miracle Worker precon overview. How do you feel about it? Do you like the included reprints? Let us know in the comments below.

If you’d like to know more about the other precons released alongside this one, check Duskmourn Commander decks. There’s plenty more to be excited about.

Until next time, have fun, and may the top card of your Miracle Worker deck always be the perfect enchantment that you can miracle for cheap.
