MTG Enchanting Tales Guide: Full Card List & Information

In September 2023, Wilds of Eldraine is bringing us Enchanting Tales cards. These iconic enchantments are also known as Wilds of Eldraine Mystical Archive cards, and players are quite excited about them. In today’s article, you’ll find all currently previewed Enchanting Tales cards, alongside information on how and where you can get them.

Before we get to it, let’s quickly explain what these cards actually are.

What are the Enchanting Tales Cards from Wilds of Eldraine?

Enchanting Tales cards are enchantments from all over Magic’s past. They appear in Wilds of Eldraine boosters. In total, there are 63 different Enchanting Tales cards of various rarities (uncommon, rare, and mythic rare). They work similar to the Retro frame artifacts did in The Brothers’ War.

Here’s one example of an Enchanting Tales card:

However, that’s not all. 20 cards are also getting special anime versions, illustrated by various Japanese artists. They will have a regular treatment, and a special confetti-like foil treatment. Here are some examples of them.

How to Get Enchanting Tales Cards?

You can open an Enchanting Tales card in any of the three Wilds of Eldraine boosters:

    • Draft boosters (1 per booster)
    • Set boosters (1 per booster)
    • Collector boosters (3-4 per booster)

Here’s a great thing about these enchantments. Just as the Retro frame artifacts, Enchanting Tales cards appear in every Draft or Set booster. This means that each booster you open, has a 100% odds of containing a Enchanting Tales card.

In the following table, you’ll find how many you can expect in a specific booster box:

  • Odds for Enchanting Tales Rarity – Draft and Set Boosters

While the odds haven’t been confirmed yet, we can assume what they’ll be, based on the rarity breakdown for Retro Frame artifacts. (Both sets contain 63 different cards.)

Let’s talk about the rarity odds. Both Draft and Set boosters have the same odds of containing a Retro artifact of a certain rarity:

    • 66% for an uncommon
    • 27% for a rare
    • 7% for a mythic rare

There’s also a chance that a card gets replaced by its anime version, but we don’t currently have the information on the odds of that happening.

Odds for Enchanting Tales Rarity – Collector Boosters

With Collector boosters the odds work a bit differently. You have at least three Retro Frame artifacts guaranteed:

    • 1 foil uncommon Retro Frame artifact
    • 1 non-foil regular Retro Frame artifact
    • 1 non-foil Schematic Retro Frame artifact

One of the these last two slots will be rare or mythic, and the other will be uncommon.

Finally, there’s an additional slot, in which you can get an Enchanting Tales card of any type. Note that these odds, aren’t officially confirmed, but are made based on past releases.
