Avatar Elemental Frame Cards: Full List & Odds

There’s no shortage of amazing alt-art cards in MTG Avatar set, and one of those are the so-called Avatar Elemental Frame cards. Below, you’ll be able to find all of them, with information on where you can get them.

Let’s get right to it.

What are Avatar Elemental Frame Cards?

Avatar Elemental Frame cards are alternate-art cards from the main Avatar: The Last Airbender set. In total, there are 20 Elemental Frame cards: 15 rares and 5 mythics. (Plus some special released, but more about that later.)

Here’s an example of how they look. On the left you can see the regular version, with Elemental Frame variant on the right.

As you can see the art-style is extended — and the frame around the text box is pretty unique. There’s also a special symbol on the left side above the type line.

Both the frame and the symbol are different depending on which faction the card belongs to. In total, there are six different options:

So, there’s a symbol for each element, as well as the spirit realm and one catch-all symbol. But, here — let’s take a look at all the cards to see exactly what we’re talking about.

Where to Get Elemental Frame Cards?

The Elemental cards you saw above can appear both in Play and Collector versions of Avatar boosters. Each of those offers different odds, so let’s take a closer look.

Avatar Play Boosters

Avatar The Last Airbender Play Booster Box

Play booster has three slots where you can get a Field Note card:

  • Wildcard slot (less than 1%)
  • Rare slot (between 2.4-3.3%)
  • Foil slot (less than 1%)

Yeah, the percentages are a bit moot, but that’s the all we could discern from the official Collecting Avatar article.

Most likely, you can expect a Field Note card in every 33 or so Play boosters. (That’s a 3% chance.)

Avatar Collector Boosters

Avatar the Last Airbender Collector Booster Box

Collector boosters, offer much better odds. There are a couple of possible slots in which you can open a Field Notes card:

  • Non-foil (12.8% — 11.7% for rare, 1.1% for mythic) A rare (11.7%) or mythic rare (1.1%) elemental frame card
  • Foil (21% — 19.2% for rare 1.8% for mythic) A rare (19.2%) or mythic rare (1.8%) elemental frame card

Thus, each Avatar Collector booster has 31.1% chance of containing at least a single Field Notes card.

However, not all Elemental Frame cards can be found in these boosters. There are two more ways to acquire additional ones.

Commander’s Bundle Exclusive Elemental Frame Cards

The first group is represented with 13 Elemental Frame cards that only appear as promos in the Avatar Commander’s Bundle. In each one you get 5 promos total. Three of them are guaranteed to be Arcane Signet, Sol Ring, and Swiftfoot Boots. The other two are random among the other ten cards.

The final six cards text part of the Avatar Secret Lair Superdrop. These can be purchased for limited time directly from Wizards. The sale starts on November 17, 2025.

After it’s done you could still get them on the secondary market.
