Want to know when Edge of Eternities releases on Arena? We’ve got you covered, as below you’ll discover the exact time of Eternities MTGA release. A countdown timer is also available to avoid any confusion with time zones. Plus, there’s some additional info about the set in the later sections.
With that said, the maintenance starts on Tuesday, July 29th, at 8 a.m. PT (15:00 UTC). Officially, it’s supposed to take about three hours. However, with recent releases, players were able to play with new cards quickly after the start of maintenance. (After 10-15 minutes or so.) However, there might be some bugs in that early period.

Maintenance Progress Check
If you want to avoid the hassle with potential lag and bugs, check Wizards’ Customer Support on X. They post before the maintenance starts, and after it’s completed. If any problems with the new patch occur, they’ll also mention them.
The other option is the MTG Arena Status Page. The Game, Matches, and Logins systems must all be marked as operational for smooth gameplay.
Usually, there is no downtime, but you need to restart the client to get Edge of Eternities patch up and running.

Do you plan to draft the new set and acquire the new cards this way? Our Edge of Eternities Draft Guide and EoE Draft Tier List are amazing tools to increase your win rate. With their help, you’ll be able to win more boosters and gems, and chain multiple events together.
Speaking of drafting, let’s see which events you’ll be able to play once the set drops on Arena.
Edge of Eternities Events
For drafters, a couple variants will be available right away: Premier (best-of-one) and Traditional Draft (best-of-three). Both of these cost 1,500 Gems or 10,000 Gold. The cheaper version of Quick Draft (best-of-one), will appear a couple of weeks later.
Furthermore, Sealed is also on the menu in two different modes: Traditional Sealed and Best-of-one Sealed. This is a nice way to practice for higher level events, such as Arena Opens or Qualifiers.
Does anything change in Constructed? Yes, it does, Edge of Eternities triggers Standard rotation. The following sets rotate out of Standard:
- Dominaria United
- The Brothers’ War
- Phyrexia: All Will Be One
- March of the Machine
- March of the Machine: The Aftermath
So, perhaps some new strategies will open up in Standard after EoE releases.
