When Does Avatar Release on Arena?

Want to know when Avatar: The Last Airbender releases on Arena? You’ve come to the right place, as below you’ll discover the exact time of Avatar MTGA release. There’s a countdown timer that will prevent any confusion with time zones. In the later sections, you can also find additional info about this awesome set.

So, the maintenance starts on Tuesday, November 18th, at 8 a.m. PT (15:00 UTC). Officially, it’s supposed to take around three hours. However, in most releases players were able to use the new cards quickly after the start of maintenance. (After 10-15 minutes or so.) Just note that there might be some bugs in that early period.

UPDATE: The article got a quick update today, as we eagerly await for Avatar to release in a few hours.

Maintenance Progress Check

Want to avoid all that but still play as soon as possible? You can check Wizards’ Customer Support on X. They post before the maintenance starts, and after it’s finished. They also mention any potential problems with the new patch.

The second option would be the MTG Arena Status Page. The Game, Matches, and Logins systems must all operational for smooth gameplay.

With most releases, there’s no downtime — you’ll just need to restart the client to get Avatar: The Last Airbender patch up and running.

We’ve got one about most fun Avatar Commanders to build around, which can give you some ideas — whether you’re brewing in Commander in paper on in Brawl on Arena.

Now, if you’re collecting actual cards, there are plenty of awesome alt-art cards to add to your collection. For example:

Enter the Avatar State With 4 New Mechanics

This set is bringing us four new mechanics, and each one tied to a different bending technique. You can learn more about them in the following articles:

You’ll need to use all four in a single turn to transform the most sought-after card in the set, Avatar Aang.

If you want to find out more more about this unique card, check this Avatar Aang Guide. In it we talk about its alt-art version and what are the odds of pulling it. It’s expected that the raised foil card will fetch a high price on the secondary market. (Possibly in the five figures range.)

Finally, if you like some casual gaming, you might enjoy Avatar Jumpstart boosters. The isea with those is pretty simple. You mash two boosters together and play.

Speaking of playing, let’s see what events will be available on Arena once this set drops.

ATLA Events

For drafters, two variants will be available right away: Premier (best-of-one) and Traditional Draft (best-of-three). Both of these cost 1,500 Gems or 10,000 Gold. If you’re looking for the cheaper version of Quick Draft (best-of-one), you’ll need to wait two more weeks.

You can prepare for this event by reading our Avatar Draft Guide, which is already out!

Additionally, Sealed also appears in two different modes: Traditional Sealed and Best-of-one Sealed. Both of which will be available once ATLA goes live. These events are fine practice for higher level events, such as Arena Opens or Qualifiers. And the qualifier for December is going to be Avatar Limited, so keep that in mind.

Does anything change in Constructed? Not really, the Avatar cards are simply added to all the formats, as Standard rotation isn’t happening any time soon.

  1. Minor comment – ACST is a bad timezone for Australia because very few people live in that region. Three quarters of people live in AEST most of the time.
